Services

Officers of the Broken Bow Police Department preserve the peace and protect the rights, lives and property of residents of our community.  The department helps ensure a safe environment through crime prevention, drug education, traffic enforcement and investigations of all types.

Services include:
-- Enforcement of city ordinances and state statues and investigation of accidents and criminal activity.

-- Authorization of handgun permits for residents of the city of Broken Bow and collection of the $5.00 fee.

-- Collection of fines for parking tickets, which range in price from $5.00 if paid within 10 days to $10.00 if paid within 11 and 20 days and $20.00 if paid within 21 and 30 days.  After 30 days, additional penalties may apply.

-- Collection of fees for city dog tags, with are $4.00 each.

-- Registration of bicycles, which are marked with reflective ID tags.

-- Presentation of community education programs of subjects such as identity theft, on-line fraud and public safety.

-- Operation of a lost and found department for items lost or found in city limits.

-- Patrolling of homes with Vacation Checks for residents who will be gone for seven days or more.
