Broken Bow
Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance crews provide around-the-clock response to fires and accidents and transports for
medical emergencies.
The fire department also issue burn permits. Anyone seeking a burn permit should first
contact the fire chief for approval. Once approved, the permits will be available at the Cuter County Communication
Center, 116 South 11th Avenue, Broken Bow.
In addition, firemen provide programs of Fire Prevention upon request
thoughout the year. Programs are presented at local schools during National Fire Prevention Week which is the first
full week of October.
The Broken Bow Ambulance celebrates National EMS Week each May.
Volunteers in
both departments receive continuous training to provide the most up-to-date fire and rescue services to the community.
Please NoteThe city's emergency signals
are tested at 4:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, starting in March and ending in September, except during threatening
weather. If weather conditions appear to have the potential for severe storms, the signals are not tested.
