City Council meetings are held
on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall Building located at
314 South 10th Ave. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Mission
The elected city officials of Broken Bow pledge to work cooperatively and efficiently for and with all citizens to provide
a safe, clean and attractive community that includes full and open access to basic services, educational programs and cultural
and recreational facilities that enhance the excellent quality of life for residents, potential residents and visitors.

The City of Broken Bow has a Mayor/Council form
of government. The Mayor is elected at-large by popular vote of the people for a four-year term. They City of
Broken Bow is divided into two wards, each ward is represented by one Council member making a total of four Council members.
Every two years, two of the Council seats are open for election (one seat in each ward). The Council member must be
an elector in the City and reside in the ward from which he or she is elected. They serve a four-year term.
The Mayor presides at all City Council meetings and has the right to vote when his or her vote shall provide the vote required
to create a majority.


The University of Nebraska at Lincoln has recognized the following individuals of Outstanding Academic
Achievement. Each of these individuals has outstanding GPA's and ACT Scores.
• Tyrell Foster -- also involved with football and wrestling
• Sara Pracht -- a gifted
musician and was selected to be a member of the All State Band
• Katie White -- also
an outstanding athlete
These students have represented themselves, parents, school and community in an outstanding
manner. The City of Broken Bow is very proud of them.
Katie Loughran was named Junior English Equitation
Reserve Champion and Reserve Champion in Junior English Please at the 2007 Ak-Sar-Ben Youth Livestock Exposition in October.
In November, Katie attended the Pinto Congress in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she captured the Grand Champion Junior Title (13 and
under) in English Pleasure, English Equitation, English Bareback Equitation and Ideal Pinto. She also won Grand Champion
for poles, barrels, flag race and key hole.
Katie should be very proud of her accomplishments. She is a remarkable
horsewomen and competitor. I know that her parents and the City of Broken Bow are very proud of her.
